A Trip Into NYC for the holidays!

Saturday, 12/13 we took the train into NYC for our annual visit this holiday season. We caught an 8am train from Hicksville to get us in early - we were hoping to beat the crowds!

Our first stop was MACYS to see the "Santaland". Brendan's favorite? The train in the Christmas tree. We just took a "peek" at Santa - the line was too long! (yes! Already at 9:00 am!!) We then looked at a few other trains in the toy department before heading back outside (in the cold) to see the MACYS windows.

Then we walked to Time Square to Toys R Us. We saw the Jurassic Park Giant Dinosaur and the giant Thomas train layout. We even managed to find a few new CARS from the movie to add to our collection.

For lunch we walked to MARS 2112. It's a restaurant themed around the planet Mars! You take a simulated "spaceship" ride to "Mars" to get to your table. Then you are greeted by several "aliens" of the planet Mars. The place is lit up in RED lights and lots of sparkle! Interesting concept!! Brendan LOVED it! He kept saying "This is SO COOL! I can't believe we're on Mars!!" At the end of your meal you take a space "elevator" back to "Earth"!

We finished our day with a well-deserved taxi ride back to Penn Station. We had a fun day.
